it APPEARS that the “band” on this soldiers left pinky COULD BE  a ring.   hOWEVER, AFTER examining this photograph under magnification, ACTUALLY  IT  LOOKS MORE  LIKE A WOUND OR SURGICAL SCAR, AS IT APPEARS TO HAVE AN UNEVEN OR "ABNORMAL NARROWING".
