MINGO CEMETERY ( Finleyville, PA.)

 The cemetery is located on a very steep hill. The tombstone is about half way up the hill to the left of the road leading into the cemetery and facing toward the main highway about in line with the old "Mingo Meeting House" church.

William S. Ferree, Corporal, Company C Pa 102nd Regiment.  His tombstone reads:  William S.  son of Wm. & M. Ferree.  Was killed in the Battle of the Wilderness, May 5, 1864.  Age 20 Yrs. 7 Mos. & 7 Days.

OAKMONT VERONA CEMETERY


Foster Alward Captain, Co A Pa 102nd and Sergt. Co A, Pa Old 13th.   Died in 1896, and is buried in Oakmont Verona Cemetery (it's online) near Pittsburgh.  Wounded at Cedar Creek

John Kaltenbaugh:  1839-1918 Father 1st Lieut. Co. H.-102nd Regt. P.V.  He is buried with his wife Mary Stevenson 1853-1926.


 

A note of history for the burials at Mt. Royal Cemetery:  According to an Historian in Pgh. the graves were moved in the 1970s to from Oakland Cemetery to make room for a dorm for the University Of Pittsburgh.  Go to the link provided above for information and history of the Mt. Royal Cemetery.
